A four-year-old girl, who lived with her mother in a shanty in Gomti Nagar area,was found dead on Monday morning. The victims body had several injury marks believed to be caused by dogs who dragged and bit her.
The family members of the girl,Radhika,did not lodge a complaint and said she died after being dragged and bitten by dogs after she had stepped out of the shanty in the night.
Her mother Geeta Devi told the police that Radhika had slept with her in their shanty near Union Bank of India,where the family sells grinding stones,on Sunday night,but she did not found her there when Geeta Devi woke up around 2.30 am.
Sub-Inspector V R Vikram said the family searched for Radhika in the night and also informed the police patrolling van about it. He said the body was found outside the Tundey Kebab restaurant in Vivek Khand in around 5 am.
Vikram said the body was noticed by the security guard of a restaurant in Vivek Khand area,who found dogs eating it. The guard chased the dogs away and later informed Radhikas family members who were searching for her in the area. He added they were waiting for the postmortem report. The S-I said there was no visible sign of any sexual assault on the girls body.
