Two killed in Parulia

Two persons-belonging to the CPM and the Congress-were killed in a political clash at Parulia village in Khargram of Murshidabad.

Two persons — belonging to the CPM and the Congress — were killed in a political clash at Parulia village in Khargram of Murshidabad.

At 3.30 pm,a group of armed men allegedly attacked the village and hurled bombs. “Mohammad Siraj,the panchayat pradhan of Parulia,was killed on Monday when six miscreants hurled bombs and fired randomly at him,when he was sitting alone inside his office,” said B L Meena,Superintendent of Police,Murshidabad. District Congress leaders,however,claimed that Siraj was killed by armed cadres of the CPM. Later,another person,Basar Sheikh,was found dead near the office. “Basar was a CPM activist. We found his body with several sharp injury marks,” added Meena.
