Six persons were injured in a clash between the CPM and Trinamool Congress over control of a trade union of a private bus route in Behala on Thursday morning. Trinamool activists blocked the Diamond Harbour Road for a few hours after the clash. Sunil Chaudhury,Additional Superintendent of Police,South 24-Parganas,said no arrests have been made as yet,he said.

Earlier, buses on route no 21/1 from Thakurpukur did not ply for three weeks after a tussle between the CPM and the Trinamool over the same reason. On Thursday,CPM and Trinamool supporters gathered there at 8.30 am,following which a clash took place.

Leader of Opposition in state legislative Assembly Partho Chatterjee alleged that CPM activists attacked Trinamool supporters with iron rods and 10 party supporters were injured. A section of CITU members recently joined the Trinamool and as a result the CPM attacked TMC activists there, said Chatterjee. He said that the TMC would organise a rally in Behala on Friday in protest against the incident.

The CPM district committee member,Rabin Deb,however, said the Trinamool is trying to take over the trade union of the bus route which is controlled by the CITU.
