For the last two years, the CRPF has also been asking for about 30 acres of land, free, for setting up a womens battalion. The state government is yet to decide on this request.
The Army, too, has asked for land for setting up barracks and camps at various places, mainly in north Bengal.
The LRC has asked the DMs to settle the cases of the security forces on a priority basis. He told them to give the land from whatever stock they had now, an official of the department said.
