Red alert sounded over Bodo terror

An alert has been sounded by the state government about a terror strike in several places on North Bengal following inputs from the state and Central intelligence agencies

An alert has been sounded by the state government about a terror strike in several places on North Bengal following inputs from the state and Central intelligence agencies about members of an Assam-based terrorist outfit of Assam having sneaked into the state with the motive of launching terrorist strikes.

As per the intelligence inputs,at least four militants of Bodo terrorist outfit have entered Malda district via Alipurduar. Raids are being conducted in several places of Malda and Alipurduar,said sources.

Bhuban Mondal,SP of Malda,meanwhile,said: “We are yet to get any specific information on the terrorists ,however,we are investigating into the matter.”

Considering that the terrorists might target railways,security vigil has been increased in Malda rail. “We have taken all kinds of adequate measures in our railway division. This is the festive season,so numbers of the tourists to North Bengal has also increased. Our first job is to ensure the security of the passengers,” said a senior railway official.
