People will uproot Trinamool: Adhir

On the sidelines of the event, Chowdhury said Congress would support the bandh called by Left Front on September 2 against the state government.

Slamming the state and central governments, state Congress president Adhir Chowdhury said that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is reflecting severe arrogance similar to former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya and just like the Left, the Trinamool Congress government would be uprooted soon by the people of Bengal.

“History has a nasty habit of repeating itself. You might have the police and administration under your control but the last say would be that of the citizens of Bengal,” Chowdhury said during the 62nd foundation day function of Chhatra Parishad, the students’ wing of Congress.
He alleged that not a single big investment has come into the state in the last four years of the TMC regime.

“People have come to know that just like the illusion of Gujarat model created by BJP to come to power, Mamata too had promised a lot and delivered none. Just like Gujarat is witnessing riots and killing at the moment, Bengal too is seeing severe lawlessness in spite of the CM assuring that the hills and Junglemahal were smiling,” Chowdhury said.

On the sidelines of the event, Chowdhury said Congress would support the bandh called by Left Front on September 2 against the state government.

“The state has a tendency to use the police and curb all sorts of movement. There has been no investigation into the martyrs of July 21 police firing which the CM had promised she would look into. These are all, just as the national BJP president Amit Shah had said for his party’s false promises, chunao-i-jumle or poll slogans. Now that the state government is exposed, it is using sticks and bullets to stop all sorts of opposition,” he said.
