One killed,12 injured in accident

Jalpaiguri:One person was killed and 12 others were injured — eight of them seriously— when a jeep collided with an earth excavation vehicle near Songachi tea estate in Jalpaiguri district on Tuesday. The jeep was on its way to Mal Block from Jaldhaka. Eight of the seriously injured have been referred to North Bengal Medical College Hospital in Siliguri while four others have been admitted to Mal hospital,said police.

CM to chair meeting of airport officials

KOLKATA:Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will preside over a meeting of airport officials and representatives of some airline companies on Wednesdayat the Writers’ Buildings. The meeting has been called to find ways to attract more airlines,especially foreign companies,to Netaji International airport at Dum Dum.
