Mollah again: ‘CPM has no future’

“I wanted to speak about the land policy that brought about our downfall but the party leadership did not allow me. I had made all the preparations. I am so upset,I requested several of our party leaders that they should know what wrong steps our government took in West Bengal. But all in vain. Ei partyr kicchu hobe na (this party has no future),’’ Mollah told The Indian Express from Kozhikode.

He also said he will not attend the afternoon sessions of the congress. “I don’t feel like going there for the second time. I will just relax at my room,’’ Mollah said.

The former minister has always been critical of the policies of former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. After the Left’s poll debacle,Mollah had said: “Hele saap dhorte parena keute dhorte geche (he has gone to catch a poisonous snake even though he does not know how to catch a non-poisonous snake).”

Mollah had said Bhattacharjee was going too fast on the issue of industrialisation by acquiring fertile land for setting up industries.

“I wanted to focus on these issues at the congress. But perhaps they were not very keen to listen,’’ Mollah said.
