Kolkata Metro to run 366 trains across three lines – check timings

Kolkata Metro Inauguration: The inauguration of three new metro lines in Kolkata on Friday has significantly improved connectivity in the ‘City of Joy.’ It is also a gift for the people of Kolkata ahead of Durga Puja, enabling them to smoothly travel to pandal-hopping in North and South Kolkata, visiting Kalighat and Dakshineswar temples, etc.

On Friday (August 22), Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three new Metro projects in the city along with a subway at Howrah. He also flagged off Metro services on these newly inaugurated stretches.

Now, metro train services will be available on Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar stretch of Yellow Line. Apart from that, Metro will be plying over the entire stretch of Green Line from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V and also on the stretch from Kavi Subhash to Beleghata of Orange Line.  The metro railway authorities have planned to run a total of 366 trains across the three corridors.

Kolkata Metro Timings

Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V Stretch of Green Line

The Metro Railway will operate to 186 train services (93 services from Howrah Maidan and 93 services from Salt Lake Sector V) on this stretch from Monday to Saturday daily. Services will be available at 8 minutes intervals on both directions.

First Service :

  • At 06:30 hrs. from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V
  • At 06:32 hrs. from Salt Lake Sector V to Howrah Maidan

Last Service:

  • At 21.45 hrs from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V
  • At 21.47 hrs from Salt Lake Sector V to Howrah Maidan

On Sundays

Total 104 services (52 services from Howrah Maidan and 52 services from Salt Lake Sector V) will be available on this stretch on Sundays. Services will be available at 15 minutes intervals on both directions.

First Service:

  • At 09:00 hrs. from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V
  • At 09:02 hrs. from Salt Lake Sector V to Howrah Maidan

Last Service:

Kavi Subhash to Beleghata stretch of Orange Line

Total 60 daily services will be available on this stretch (30 services from Kavi Subhash to Beleghata and 30 services from Beleghata to Kavi Subhash) from Monday to Friday, beginning August 25. Train services will be available at 25 minutes intervals. Services will not be available on Saturdays and Sundays.

First Service:

  • At 08:00 hrs. from Kavi Subhash to Beleghata
  • At 08:00 hrs. from Beleghata to Kavi Subhash

Last Service:

  • At 20:05 hrs. from Kavi Subhash to Beleghata
  • At 20:05 hrs. from Beleghata to Kavi Subhash

Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar Stretch of Yellow Line

Total 120 services (60 services from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar and 60 services from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Noapara) will be available on this stretch daily, beginning August 25. Services will be available from Monday to Friday. Services will be available at 10-15 minutes intervals on this stretch. No train services will be available on Saturdays and Sundays.

First Service:

  • At 07:58 hrs. from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar
  • At 07:58 hrs. from Jai Hind Bimanbandar to Noapara

Last Service:

  • At 20:00 hrs. from Noapara to Jai Hind Bimanbandar
