Couple robbed,milkman shot

Local people rushed him to Vishuddhananda Hospital,where he was declared brought dead. Though the murder took place in full public view,no one dared to give a statement regarding the incident. The motive of the murder could not be ascertained. Police suspect Papot was killed as he tried to resist the miscreants who attempted to rob him. A mobile phone,and Rs 30,000 was recovered from the spot. The victim’s family members also could not give any lead to the police. The businessman was originally a resident of Gujarat. He had come to West Bengal few years ago and had settled here. Police are looking for some local rowdies.

In another incident,three goons attacked a couple and snatched away gold jewellery. The couple — Amit Rungta and wife Jyoti — were at a shop on Hariram Goyenka Street near Posta when three bike-ridden miscreants came and attacked Jyoti with a knife.

They tried to snatch her gold chain. After facing resistance from Amit,the goons stabbed him in his hand and snatched his finger ring and fled from the spot. A complaint has been lodged with the police,though no arrests have been made so far.
