A coffee pub in the city intends to change the coffee drinking experience for the city
For those, who have been spoiling their evenings fighting over after-work coffee or beer,Citrus, might just come as a boon. The fusion coffee pub that opened its doors at Hotel Lindsay, promises to be a chill-out zone that the city had been wanting for a long time now. I have often heard youngsters squabbling over where to go for coffee or beer. Most places dont offer both at the same time. That is when the idea of Citrus came to me, says Tarun Nandy, general manager of Citrus.
The coffee pub, done up in fruity shades of orange, serves beer, wine and champagne. However,it doesnt have alcoholic drinks on its menu. We didnt want to turn Citrus into a bar. In fact we wanted to offer the whole bistro experience, says Nandy. So,you have delicacies like the Swiss Cream Cheese sandwich, the Fettuccini Aglio Olio with Mexican chicken, baked rich with paneer croquette etc.
The price point might also act as a big draw. You get a beer and a club sandwich for just Rs 130. Prices start from Rs 30,and the variety of coffee and tea infusions we offer should attract young crowds, says Nandy. Also, the coffee pub intends to provide a platform to young artists, actors, musicians. Every Friday we intend to let youngsters organize for music shows, plays etc for free, says Nandy.
