The only post office in GIFT City is set to be shifted with the Amenity Building, where it is currently located, scheduled to be demolished to make way for a multi-level car parking. “The sub-post-office has been functional since 2014. Now as this building is being demolished, we have been allocated a new premise near the fire station. We will shift as soon as the furniture work is completed,“ said Chiragsinh Barot, a staffer.

Apart from the post office, only a medical centre, operated by Apollo Hospitals, is currently operating out of the building.

Located behind GIFT One Tower in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA), the Amenity Building has served as a hangout spot for employees working in GIFT City as it had eating outlets apart from some shops. It was said to be one of the first hangout zones meant for people working in the business hub after the first two multi-storied structures were built.

“The space occupied by the building is part of the footprint kept reserved for a multi-level car park. We have allocated alternate space to the shops in front of GIFT-Two Tower,” an official spokesperson for GIFT City said. The GIFT City had recently floated a tender for dismantling and demolishing the concrete structures.

Tea Post, a tea and cafe chain, has shifted its outlet to an alternate spot, which is an open plot in front of GIFT-Two Tower. “We shifted to this new spot just a week back. The old spot was better and cooler as it was a concrete structure and we had some greenery around,” said Sandip Meena, a staffer at the outlet

operating from a temporary metal structure.

The Indian Express had recently reported that GIFT City is building three multi-level car parks that will help accommodate 5,000 vehicles.
