Provision modified for transparency, ease of process

An official release stated that Section 36 of the Gujarat Public Trusts Act has been accordingly modified which will make the process of transfer of property of a public trust transparent and more beneficial to the trust. (Representational Image) The state government has modified a provision of the Gujarat Public Trusts Act under which the process to transfer any property of a public trust through sale or lease would be done via an online auction. Earlier, the process was carried out manually which could lead to monopoly, said an official release on Wednesday.

An official release stated that it has also been decided that the upset value of the trust’s property will now be decided by the District Level Valuation Committee. The upset value is defined as the minimum price set for property offered at auction or public sale.
