Only yoga at Ramlila, else we will take action: Police
The Delhi Police has said it will wait and watch on Saturday to ascertain if Baba Ramdev, who has sought permission to hold a Yoga Shivir at Ramlila Maidan, flouts any norm by going on an indefinite fast.
Ramdev was given permission by the Delhi Police to organise a Yoga Shivir for 20 days with a maximum strength of 7,000 participants. Baba also sought another permission for an assembly of 200 people at Jantar Mantar, where he said he would give a speech on black money and corruption.
The meeting at Jantar Mantar will also be held on Saturday, after the Yoga Shivirs morning session.
He has sought permission for a gathering of 200 people. We will not allow any more people beyond that to march towards Jantar Mantar. We will make arrangements to stop the people, said a senior police officer.
Police sources said permission for both the places had been granted to Ramdevs Bharat Swabhiman Trust much earlier, and cannot be cancelled arbitrarily.
We will wait and watch and if he uses Ramlila Maidan (gathering) as a platform for some purpose other than yoga. We will take necessary action then and there, said Sudhir Yadav,Joint Commissioner of Police (Northern Range).
Police said they have deployed personnel from the reserve forces, and there will be adequate security.
