Captain Harpreet Singh, commander of the air ambulance which crashed in Faridabad, had moved into a Dwarka apartment with his bride barely a few months ago.

Officials of Air Charter Services, the company for which Harpreet flew, had very high regard for the pilot. Sunil Gaur,Director (Operations) of the company, said,“Captain Harpreet Singh was one of the most experienced pilots in the company and had no negative record.”

Parimal Dey,president of the Gyan Shakti CGHS Apartments in Dwarka Sector 6 where Harpreet lived, said:”The family had rented the apartment in October 2010. As they were new tenants,we did not have much opportunity to interact. After learning of Harpreet’s death,we have been waiting for his family. The house has been locked since morning.” Harpreet’s mother, residents said, often visited the family.

According to the rent agreement records, the family was from Model Town in Patiala, said Anil Tyagi, former president of the society.

Security guards at the gates recalled the pilot who kept strange hours: “He was very young. He had got married about five months ago. Since he was a pilot and had odd working hours,we did not see him much.”
