Sheila slip-up has Sonia in splits

A slip of tongue by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday had Congress workers attending the partys 125th foundation day celebrations in splits.

I would also like to thank Jaiprakash Narayan-ji, Dikshit said,leading to laughter from party president Sonia Gandhi and other Congress workers.

Dikshit soon corrected herself by saying that it was Delhi Congress chief Jai Prakash Agarwal she was referring to. Aapko hasana bhi thha,na (I wanted to make you laugh), quipped Dikshit,who was delivering the vote of thanks.

Jai Prakash Narayan is remembered for spearheading a campaign against then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi,which led to the imposition of Emergency in 1975.
