With the shoe-hurling incident reopening the 1984 anti-Sikh riots issue,Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit met leaders of the Sikh community on Tuesday and sought their support for the Congress in forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Dikshit told the delegation of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee that the country was making rapid progress under the leadership of Manmohan Singh. “The Prime Minister singlehandedly dealt with India’s economy and pushed the country towards economic prosperity,” Dikshit said. The delegation was led by the committee’s president Paramjit Singh Sarna. — PTI
