WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

Drama queen Rakhi Sawant has decided to put an end to making her own life public on National TV and has taken over the pious task of solving the common man’s petty issues. She’s following in the footsteps of the King of American Television Trash,Jerry Springer. From property tussles to family problems to love-related issues,Sawant has a solution for all. She knows the history of the ‘case’,listens to all the viewpoints, shouts when angry and embraces when sad and finally gives out her judgment. The very first episode saw plenty of action,as a widow is accused by her sisters of carrying on a scandalous affair with a family friend who, they claim,is only after the money her late husband left her. In short, expect to see plenty of dirty laundry being washed in public. Sawant then provides the out-of-court judgment to those who come to her for ‘justice’ and want to be seen on TV.

WHO’S IN IT?

It’s a typical Rakhi Sawant show— lots of drama, tears, sarcasm and screeching form the content. Dressed in loud colours, bad make-up and Medusa-like hair,Sawant’s facial expressions are worth a watch. She comforts the victim and,in some extremely melodramatic moments, calls the culprit zaleel. The victims and others hug her and cry on her shoulder— she is their messiah. However,it is the studio audience that provides the viewer actual comic relief— they shout “Rakhi zindabad” every few minutes and ask questions passionately.

WHAT’S HOT?

Sawant’s sarcasm actually works at times. Like always, she doesn’t watch her words and ends up creating a controversy. No celebrities have been included in the show till now,but the complainants manage to kick up quite a drama– some even throw shoes at each other. The sadist in you will enjoy it.

WHAT’S NOT?

The production quality of the show is B-grade and the concept has not been executed well. It gives you a peek into the bedroom stories of absolute strangers. The worst part is that the stories don’t sound convincing and you wonder if any of it is real at all. Sawant gets very loud and a lot of stereotypes rule the show. The clothes don’t match the look of the show at all– no one wants to see a show that claims to help people get justice, but whose host wears distractingly loud and glamorous clothes. The set is chaotic and in less than five minutes, you will change the channel.
