Hall No. 18 at Pragati Maidan in Delhi wore a differently dandy look on Thursday afternoon,as the sound of the shehnai floated across the red-carpeted hallway. It was the first day of Pakistan’s maiden premium exhibition in India — Lifestyle Pakistan.

Inaugurated by Union Minister for Commerce,Anand Sharma,the exhibition has many luxury items on display — such as artwork,clothing,jewellery,handicrafts,home furnishings and even Pakistani cuisine. With over 100 mainstream brands and more than 650 entrepreneurs from the neighbouring country coming under one roof,Lifestyle Pakistan lives up to its promise of being a one-stop-shop for cross-border shopping. Stalls by Khadi — a brand that works towards reviving the ancient craft and handloom in Pakistan,and Gul Ahmed — a contemporary brand dealing with textiles,saw the most number of visitors on Day One.

The four-day event is the outcome of a collaboration between Trade Development Association of Pakistan and Indian Trade Promotion Organisation and is showcasing over 100 top brands and designers from Pakistan in various fields such as couture and prêt wear,home textiles,furniture,leather goods,accessories,handicraft and jewellery.

Lifestyle Pakistan is on at Pragati Maidan till April 15,from 11 am to 7 pm
