The Delhi Police has arrested two persons who kidnapped the child of an employee of a businessman,in turn asking him to kidnap the businessmans son so that they could demand a ransom from him.
According to the police,the incident was reported from South Delhi on June 13 and the accused were arrested on June 23.
Aman (26) and Umesh Prasad (35) kidnapped the five-year-old son of one Gajender Singh,a resident of Neb Sarai. Police said an FIR was registered and several teams formed to look for the accused.
Police said the kidnappers called Singh and promised to release his son on the condition he would kidnap his employers son. The two planned to demand a hefty ransom from the businessman,the police said.
As the surveillance in the area was tightened,the police said,the accused got scared and released the child in Neb Sarai. They were later arrested and confessed to the crime. While Umesh is from Bihar,Aman belongs to Kolkata,the police said. They met each other while working in a dying unit. A mobile phone,motorcycle and a country-made pistol have been recovered.
