He is Bollywoods latest toast, but actor Shahid Kapoor would rather leave the success of Kaminey behind and look forward to his latest release Dil Bole Hadippa ,opposite Rani Mukherjee. Its a film for the entire family,so kids will have as much fun. In Kaminey,I lost out on a lot of the audience due to its A tag, smiles Kapoor, dressed casually in torn denims and sneakers,at the promotion of the film at Big Cinemas,Odeon recently.
In Dil Bole… Kapoor plays the role of a cricketer, who plays in the English county league. He returns to his hometown in Punjab to revive the flagging fortunes of the cricket team run by his father. I am glad this film came to me, he adds, waving to his female fans in the audience,I love playing cricket, and I have never played a sportsman in my films. When I was in school,I played for the school team and pursued it through college, he said.
Meanwhile,Mukherjee who has been a part of the Yash Raj camp for long, seemed equally upbeat about the project. I have been surrounded by Punjabis all my life. I had no difficulties playing the role of a sardarni. My sister-in-law is Punjabi, she replied,to a query about playing a double character in the film that of a cricket-crazy village girl, who dresses up as a Punjabi boy for the game. I would like to thank Aamir (Khan) and Shah Rukh (Khan) for getting the authentic look and providing me with tips on cricket, she gushed. But will it revive her stock in Bollywood?
