Gold trader stabbed to death in Delhi’s Karol Bagh, 1 arrested

A gold trader was allegedly stabbed to death by four men inside his office in Central Delhi’s Karol Bagh Wednesday night.

The victim was identified as Pratap Jadhav, a resident of the Karol Bagh area and a well-known gold trader who supplied gold to several jewellers in the city. The police said they arrested one of the accused, identified as Sudeep, who was one of the two aides of the victim allegedly involved in the murder.

The police control room received a call about the incident around 10.45 pm. Sources said the accused stabbed the victim multiple times and fled.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Sanjay Sain said, “A team reached the third floor of a building where the victim was found lying in a pool of blood. The crime scene was his workplace and we recovered cash worth Rs 39.50 lakh from the room.”

The police found multiple stab wounds on his body and called the crime and forensic teams to inspect the spot.

The police registered a murder case and scanned all CCTVs in the area. Footage from near the crime scene revealed the involvement of four men in the murder, including the victim’s aides Ganesh and Sudeep.

The police said they were looking for Ganesh and the other two unidentified men. The motive behind the murder is not clear yet, they added.
