The 4,000 sq ft Sports Bar,(no relation to All Sports Bar,Regal Building ,CP) located on the fourth floor of Gurgaon Central Mall,Gurgaon,takes the sporty theme very seriously and has interesting options to pull in the crowd. Depending on the day of the week,one can choose from theme nights like Bar Brawl,a friendly pool competition,and Thirsty Scholars,a rapid fire on sports trivia,and even a karaoke night. “We want to keep the atmosphere lively and as inclusive as possible,” informs Rajat Yagnik,the manager.

Though its interiors — granite flooring,upright seating with its red and black chairs— aren’t quite what you’d expect from a sports bar,the menu card,with an ‘Any other instructions coach’ slot,(for any special preferences with your order) creates the right mood. And when you’re ready to order,all you need to do is blow the plastic whistle handed to you,to attract the waiter’s attention.

The beverages menu boast— cocktails named after celebrity sports stars. Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney (Rs 279) is a smooth concoction of gin,triple sec and grenadine,while Magic Johnson (Rs 279) is a heady mix of whisky,lime and soda. There is also a Chris Gayle (Rs 279) for cricket lovers while pole vault champ Bubka appears as a vodka-melon-mango mix (Rs 279). “We have focused on the drinks section since it is a lounge-bar,” adds Yagnik.
