The police arrested four youngsters from Jyoti Nagar for robbery on Saturday. The accused had allegedly robbed a man travelling on a bike on January 10 and fired at him injuring his hands. The victim is undergoing treatment at the Sant Parmanand Hospital.
The accused have been identified as Akshaya Kumar (19),Parveen Kumar (22),Sushil Kumar Panchal (24) and Joginder (33).
Joginder,who used to be a delivery man at an electronics godown in Meet Nagar,knew that a huge amount of money was deposited in the bank every morning by the nephew of the establishment owner. The robbery was planned by him to avenge his removal from the job three months ago,police said,adding that he had asked Panchal and Parveen to hire professionals for committing the crime.
Following this,Panchal and Parveen contacted Akshaya,who recruited the services of three youths from Uttar Pradesh Vipul,Vicky and Sarvesh.
The accused,who had come on motorcycles,waylaid the owners nephew at Loni Flyover on January 10 and tried to wrestle him down. When the complainant resisted,they opened fire at him injuring his hand. In order to save himself,the complainant jumped from the flyover,sustaining injuries in both his legs.
Meanwhile,the accused persons snatched the bag of money from him and fled towards Loni.
Vipul,Vicky and Sarvesh are yet to be arrested,police said,adding that they are involved in several cases of attempted murder and robbery in UP and Haryana. Upon receiving a tip-off,police set a trap on Main Wazirabad Road,Gokulpuri village,and arrested the accused. A hunt has been launched for the absconding three.
