Fire at showroom twice in night,manager dead

According to the police,showroom owner Rajesh Anand was waiting in his Innova car parked outside the shop. The manager,Manish Kumar,30,was inside,preparing to close the shop for the day.

The police said the blast was so intense that it shattered the windowpanes of the Innova car.

Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot,the police said. The fire was brought under control by midnight.

Kumar was rushed to a city hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival with 100 per cent burns,the police said. “The shop owner also sustained severe injuries. He is recuperating at Aditya Hospital,” a police officer said.

Later around 4 am on Sunday the shop caught fire again,the police said. One fire tender was sent to the spot and the fire was brought under control within 15 minutes.

The police said the reason behind the blast has not been established yet and also cause of the second fire has not been ascertained. The police suspect the blast may be caused due to a cylinder burst or short circuit.

A case of causing death due to negligence has been registered against unknown people at the Krishna Nagar police station.

The police said the Anand is a resident of Preet Vihar,while the manager lived in B-Block at Lord Krishna road. Kumar is survived by his wife and a four-month-old child.
