Foul play in death looks unlikely: Police
Forensic and autopsy reports indicate that the death of 14-year-old Vaibhav Kumar, who fell from the terrace of his eight-storey apartment in Dwarka Sector-6 on September 5,was a case of suicide, police claimed on Friday.
We are certain that this is a case of suicide. The post-mortem and FSL reports have not hinted any foul play, a police officer said.
The forensic science laboratory (FSL) report revealed that the spots, which were earlier thought to be bloodstains,on the stairway on three floors leading to the terrace did not have any trace of blood.
Before the samples were sent to the laboratory,it was speculated that the stains were left behind as the boy was killed and dragged to the terrace to make it look like suicide.
The forensic report states that bloodstains were found only on the spot the parking lot where Vaibhav was found dead, with drops of blood oozing out of his mouth.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Southwest) A K Ojha said: The report has revealed that the blood samples collected from the building were not bloodstains at all. Another report is awaited to establish the exact time of death.
Vaibhav had returned from his tuition at 6.50 pm and CCTV footage showed the boy entering the lift. He never returned home on the second floor of Skylark Apartments.
At 10.08 pm,he was found dead. His slippers and a book were recovered from the terrace.
A post-mortem examination revealed that he died of neurogenic shock around the time he fell.
All the injuries on his body were sustained at or around the time of death, police said.
