Dues not paid,ex-employee beats up firm owner in S Delhi

The owner of a security agency was allegedly beaten up by one of his former employees after he refused to pay him his dues. The incident occurred near Pushp Vihar area of South Delhi on Saturday.

The owner of a security agency was allegedly beaten up by one of his former employees after he refused to pay him his dues. The incident occurred near Pushp Vihar area of South Delhi on Saturday.

According to the police,the firm owner,Uma Shanker Pandey (40),had gone for a surprise inspection to an establishment in Pushp Vihar where around 40 of his employees are deputed.

Surinder Singh,the accused,worked with Pandey’s agency earlier and came to know of his visit.

“Singh met Pandey and demanded that his dues be cleared. As Pandey refused despite repeated requests,Singh lost his cool. He snatched a wooden stick from a guard and beat up his former employer,” said an officer.

An eyewitness told the police: “Singh kept beating Pandey for more than two minutes. By the time other security guards could overpower him,Pandey had suffered a fracture. He had to be taken to hospital.”

The police were then informed and Singh was arrested on charges of causing grievous injuries.

The police said Singh was a resident of the Dakshin Puri area of South district while Pandey lived in Kalkaji area. The office of his company,Bold Security Services,too,is in Kalkaji.

According to other security personnel working with Pandey,sources in the police said,he never gave salaries on time and at times even refused to pay their dues.
