Looks like Tarun Mansukhani made friends for life with his directorial debut Dostana. The filmmaker celebrated his birthday with a small party “for family and close friends only” at his Mumbai residence. The guest-list looked like the credits for Dostana — Mansukhani’s mentor Karan Johar walked in first and was later joined by Bobby Deol,Manish Malhotra,Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder. Riteish Deshmukh came too but one wondered what dostana he shared with the gang. John Abraham was obviously accompanied by Bipasha Basu who wore a cute black one-shoulder mini. But that black-and-silver rosette on her dress killed it. And Mansukhani came down personally to escort Priyanka Chopra and her,er,good friend,Shahid Kapoor.

SOUTHERN superstar Kamal Hassan was in Mumbai recently for the premiere of the Hindi version of his blockbuster film Dashavatar. The key people from the crew,including director K S Ravikumar,were present. Hassan’s daughters Shruti and Akshara and his new family — spouse Gautami and her daughter Shubha Laksmi — came from Chennai too. The veteran actor’s popularity also fetched Yash Chopra,Om Puri,Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Deepti Naval to the low-key event. But we were thoroughly surprised to see Sushmita Sen’s daughter Renee turn up sans her diva mother. And the ever-so-uninhibited Hassan posed generously with his family.
