A two-year-old boy sustained injuries after he was attacked by two German Shepherds outside his home in Shahdara’s Vishwas Nagar. Police said a case has been registered against the owner, a couple, who live nearby.
In a video of the incident which took place on Monday around 7.30 pm, the boy’s mother is seen carrying him and walking on the road when one of the dogs comes out of its house and attacks the child, causing them to fall on the road. The woman struggles to protect the boy but the dog pulls him and bites his leg. A man rushes towards them and picks up the child but the dog continues its attack.

After a few minutes, the owner intervenes and tries to control the animal but the second dog runs towards the boy and attacks. The man pulls him away and they run inside a house.
DCP (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary said they saw the video and contacted the family. The toddler’s father, Tanuj Narang, told police that his wife and son were returning from a temple when one of their neighbours allegedly opened the gate and her pet dogs ran out and attacked his boy.
Police said the child is stable now. A case under IPC sections 289 and 337 has been registered against the couple and the case is under investigation.
This is the third such incident in Delhi in the past three weeks.
On January 2, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl suffered three fractures and received multiple stitches when she was attacked by a Pitbull in North Delhi’s Burari. In another incident, a seven-year-old girl sustained multiple injuries when she was attacked by her neighbour’s American Bully dog in Rohini on January 9.
