The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Friday filed an FIR against the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) after the water utility’s main transmission pipeline in West Delhi was damaged by DMRC workers while carrying out piling work near the Najafgarh Nallah, in Basai Darapur on Ring Road.
In a statement, the DJB accused the DMRC of “carelessness”, which led to the shutting down of the water main from its Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant, which consequently disrupted supply in Raja Garden and other adjoining areas of West Delhi.
“The DJB authorities have taken up the case against DMRC and have filed an FIR at the Rajouri Garden police station. This is not the first time when piling work undertaken by DMRC has caused damage to DJB facilities,” the DJB statement said.
