Delhi Police form teams to trace ‘Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chasma’ actor Gurucharan Singh

Almost a week since actor Gurucharan Singh, who stars in the popular TV show “Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chasma”, went missing from his home, senior Delhi Police officers said that his exact location is yet to be traced as he was last seen taking different buses and “circling” around the Southwest district of the city.

A case under Section 365 (Kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person) of the Indian Penal Code has been lodged and several teams have been formed to trace him.

Singh went missing on April 22 when he had a flight to Mumbai for work purposes. “He left home in his vehicle and according to a CCTV footage, he can be seen at an intersection in Palam inside a black vehicle. Later, in another CCTV footage, he can be seen in a bus with a bag,” an officer said.

Singh’s father has filed a missing complaint report with the Delhi Police. His father claimed that Singh was scheduled to board the flight to Mumbai for his work at around 9:15 pm but he never boarded it.

A senior officer said that Singh’s father also mentioned a history of work pressure and financial issues as possible factors responsible for Singh’s disappearance. “All aspects are being probed and raids are on to trace Singh based on his movements,” DCP (Southwest) Rohit Meen said.
