Fans of Ken Follett have two reasons to rejoice. The writer’s latest novel,Fall of Giants — which is the first book in his Century trilogy — has reached Indian book-stands. And,he is expected to be in India in December for a four-city tour,including Delhi. Fall of Giants (Penguin and Pan Mc Millan,Rs 350 for the paperback) an ambitious historical epic,follows the fate of five inter-related families — American,German,Russian,English and Welsh — as they move through the dramas of the First World War,the Russian Revolution and the struggle for women’s suffrage. Aditi Soni of Pan Macmillan India,confirmed Follett’s visit.

The second book in the Century series is due to be published in 2012,and will feature the children of the characters in Fall of Giants as they live through the Depression and the Second World War. The third book,due out in 2014,will be about the third generation which lives through the Cold War.
