Jamia students call off protest

New Delhi: Students of Jamia Millia Islamia called off their six-day old hunger strike on Thursday after being assured by the university teachers’ association that their cases would be heard sympathetically. The students had called the strike after a group of 17 students from the mass communication department were debarred from writing exams on the grounds of short attendance.
