MCD to concretise roads before rains
Wary of the chaos on city roads every monsoon,the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to concretise roads most prone to water-logging. The Corporation has chosen around 32 such roads across all zones and will start with the concretisation of roads in the Naraina industrial area. P3
Cabinet puts off circle rate revision
The Delhi Cabinet has deferred approving a proposal increasing property circle rates. It has instead formed a committee to reconsider the various categories charted out by the Revenue Department that had sought the Cabinets approval for a proposal to revise the procedure for calculating circle rates,or the minimum price at which a property can be sold in Delhi. 19-year-old booked for Alipur accident
The Outer Delhi police have registered a case against 19-year-old Ankur Singh a day after he lost control over his fathers Honda City car and mowed down a man and his grandson in Alipur. Police officials said Ankur does not have a driving licence either.
Educationist Stya Paul dies at 91
Stya Paul,a renowned freedom fighter,educationist and industrialist,passed away here on Monday. He was 91. Paul,the founder chairman of Apeejay Education Society,which runs a large number of schools and other institutes across north India,was ailing for some time. He was the elder brother of London-based NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul.
