New Delhi: With the private discoms strongly pitching for a hike in tariff,Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday said power regulator DERC will take a final decision on the issue and the government will not play any role. “The DERC will decide about the tariff. It is in their domain. The government has nothing to do with it,” Dikshit said after a meeting with Power Minister Haroon Yusuf. In the meeting,she reviewed the government’s preparation in meeting the power demand during the peak summer months.

MCD intensifies demolition drive

New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Tuesday demolished illegally constructed portions of 24 properties in West,Central and Rohini zones. In West zone,action was taken in Raghubir Nagar,Karam Pura,Vikaspuri,Prem Nagar,Hari Nagar,etc. In the Central zone,action was taken in Vishkarma Colony and Sangam Vihar. In Rohini zone,portions of houses were demolished in Sector 4,5 and 21.
