Police arrested an alleged kingpin of an interstate gang that use to dupe people on the pretext of installing mobile towers on their houses or land.

One arrested for fraud
New Delhi
: Police arrested an alleged kingpin of an interstate gang that use to dupe people on the pretext of installing mobile towers on their houses or land. The gang would promise a huge rent amount to people and charge registration fees. They would disappear after withdrawing the fees. Israil alias Lala (22) was arrested from a flat in Vaishali,Ghaziabad. Police recovered 30 cellphones,20 agreement letters of different mobile companies and two ATM cards from the accused,a release said.

High Court allows divorce
New Delhi
: The Delhi High Court has granted divorce to a woman,upholding that she was fraudulently made to sign papers,which later turned out to be registration of marriage and certificate of conversion to Islam. The court accepted the woman’s arguments that she had sought the man’s help to get the membership of the library in Jama Masjid and he persuaded her to convert to Islam for this purpose. She was however fraudulently made to sign on registration of marriage papers and conversion certificate.

Rs 1.5 lakh snatched
Gurgaon
: Two motorcycle-borne youths snatched a bag reportedly containing Rs 1.5 lakh from a businessman who was on his way home in Gurgaon. Ramesh Soni,a toffee manufacturer,had got out of a taxi and was walking towards his house near the Gurgaon-Delhi Expressway when the youth snatched his bag and fled,police said. Soni had collected the money from his agents and distributors. Police suspect role of an insider.
