The ongoing doping problem with Indian weightlifters,hockey chief coach Jose Brasa’s demand for a psychologist and the longevity of Sachin Tendulkar have reasserted the importance of sports medicine and constant scientific backing in today’s world,according to Dr PSM Chandran,who organised the Sports Medcon 2009 recently to provide latest information in the field to sportspersons and federations,with over 50 top specialists in attendance.

In other matches of the day,Korubanga NS (10 points) helped Laxman Public school beat Bal Bharti School,Rajinder Nagar 32-27 while Kunal Bhatia (14 points) starred in Gyan Bharti Schools 29-24 win over Govt School,Saket. In the final match of the day,Rahul Kumar (12 points) helped Blue Bell school beat Amity International School,Saket 29-20.

Modern School win
Lokesh Chopra (3/11) and Uttsav Choudhary (2/10) shared five wickets among themselves and Nikunj Sharma scored 28 to lead Modren School Barakhamba Road to a seven-wicket victory over Carl Hupper School,Noida and get four points in the sixth Sahid Rajpal Memorial inter-school cricket touanament at the DAV School Daya Nand Vihar. In another match,Abhishek Kumars unbeaten 33,Dharmender Kumars 28 and good spells of bowling from Maneet Gogiya (3/12) and Akash Manchanda (3/17) helped Hansraj Model School Punjabi Bagh beat Amity International School East Delhi by six wickets and bag full four points.

Cricket tournament from today
The ninth edition of the Ganga u-17 Inter-school cricket tournament will be played from Wednesday at the Ganga International School,Hiran Kudna. Doon Public School will play Mont Abu school in the first match of the tournament.
