On March 29,15 leading artists came together to create an installation of bats, which was on display at various public spaces in the city. “It’s a shared platform for cricket and art and we wanted it to reach out to a wider audience,” says Archana Bahl Sapra, who curated the exhibition of these bats with Pooja Bahri. Called “Batting for Art”,the exhibition was a collaboration of Arts for All and Delhi Daredevils. Artist Sanjay Bhattarcharya says,“Any surface is becoming a plane for art,so why not cricket bats? I chose Krishna as a theme for my painting, because he is the biggest player.” Today, the bats will be auctioned at the ITC Maurya to raise funds for the Arts For All Residency Programme.
