Cong meets today to look at 1,600 applications
The Election Committee of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee is slated to convene on Friday to decide the fate of 1,600 Congress ticket aspirants. Sources said the election committee would scrutinise all applications and shortlist three candidates from each of Delhis 70 constituencies. The shortlist will be passed on to two separate committees for consideration before being passed on to the AICC screening committee for a final decision, a senior leader said.
In fix over cash limit,traders meet poll chief
After directions from the Election Commission advising the public not to carry more than Rs 50,000 cash in hand,a delegation of the Confederation of All India Traders met Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev. Dev assured us that traders and the general public will not be harassed. He said they would take preventive steps so that people will not feel any discomfort, CAITs Praveen Khandelwal said.
