A 25-year-old auto-rickshaw driver died after he was stabbed by unidentified assailants in Kamla Market area,Central Delhi,on Tuesday night.
According to the police,the incident occurred around 12.45 am when the victim,Lovekush Kumar,was going towards New Delhi area.
A few assailants stabbed him and fled. After he was stabbed,he tried to run for help but was accidentally hit by a vehicle on the road, a senior police officer said. An eyewitness,Habibul Rehman said,I heard someone yelling for help. When I turned around I saw him lying on the road.
The police said when they received a call about the incident,the control room forwarded it to the Parliament Street police station. Later,it was found that the incident occurred in Kamla market area on Asaf Ali Road. The Central Delhi police was then informed.
Investigating officers suspect it to be a case of personal enmity as nothing was found missing from Kumars possession.
Investigations in the case are on. Kumar lived in Shastri Park,Northeast Delhi,with his family.
