Police on Wednesday arrested two allegedly involved in the murder of a police informer.

New Delhi:Police on Wednesday arrested two allegedly involved in the murder of a police informer. Arms and ammunition and two stolen motorcycles were recovered from them. Amir (22) and Shahjad (22) were arrested following information that they would visit a cremation ground in Gandhi Nagar to meet their associates. “The had murdered a police informer in Uttar Pradesh,” DCP (Crime) Sanjay Jain said.

NCW wants more patrolling in suburbs

New Delhi:An inquiry committee of National Commission for Women,set up to probe the alleged honour killing of a 26-year-old woman in Outer Delhi’s Kanjhwala area,highlighted the need for an increase in police patrolling in city’s suburbs. The committee said steps should also be taken to sensitise the community through seminars. “Local leaders and politicians should also be sensitised to gender issues. The state governments should be directed to constitute a committee to make recommendations for better law enforcement,” a NCW statement said. On April 19,a primary school teacher,Deepti Chikara,had been killed allegedly by her mother,brother and uncle after she expressed her wish to marry a man of another caste.
