The Delhi High Court on Thursday allowed former Rajya Sabha member D P Yadav’s son Vikas Yadav,who is serving a life term in the 2002 Nitish Katara murder case,to attend his brother’s engagement ceremony on April 14 for two hours.

Vikas Yadav allowed to attend brother’s engagement

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday allowed former Rajya Sabha member D P Yadav’s son Vikas Yadav,who is serving a life term in the 2002 Nitish Katara murder case,to attend his brother’s engagement ceremony on April 14 for two hours. The court directed the Delhi Police to escort Vikas from 8 to 10 pm on April 14 to Hyatt Regency for his brother Kunal’s engagement ceremony.

Car-jacking bid on Delhi cop’s car

Ghaziabad: Unidentified thieves tried to steal a Santro car belonging to Delhi Police Assistant Commissioner of Police Vimlesh,parked in front of her house in Vaishali Sector 4 on Wednesday night. The ACP is posted at Kamla market. She is a resident of Vaishali Sector 4 in Ghaziabad. Official sources said the car’s windowpane was found to be smashed by thieves early on Thursday morning. Footage from a CCTV camera installed in the premises is also being checked. A case has been registered at the Indirapuram police station.

Citi fraud: Custody extended for accused

Gurgaon: A city court on Thursday remanded Raghuraj Puri,the father of Citibank fraud mastermind Shivraj Puri,and Rajendra,director of brokerage firm Norman Martin,in another day in police custody. Both Raghuraj and Rajendra were in police custody for the last two days. They were arrested on the night of April 4. The city police had filed chargesheet against three accused — mastermind Shivraj Puri and co-accused Sanjay Gupta and Gaurav Jain — in the Citibank fraud case on March 29.

State Power minister addresses grievances

Gurgaon: The Haryana power ministry has directed a factory owner to make arrangements for controlling air and water pollution within three months or face legal action. State Power and Technical Education minister Mahender Partap Singh was presiding over the first monthly District Grievance Redressal Committee meeting on Thursday. Of 17 complaints,13 were addressed.
