Relatives claim woman was killed for dowry
Family members of a 30-year-old woman who died under mysterious circumstances in East Delhis Mayur Vihar on Sunday have claimed she was tortured by her in-laws for dowry. Seema Kaur was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital after her in-laws and husband found her unconscious on Sunday afternoon. Her father,Surender Pal told the police: Seema had often complained about dowry torture. There is some foul play in this. No case has been registered yet as the police are waiting for postmortem report.
Civic bodys helplines for monsoons
With monsoons expected to arrive in Delhi soon,the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has made its zonal control rooms and central control room functional for 24 hours. New machines to repair potholes for MCD
Repairing of potholes in Delhi is all set to go hi-tech,claims the Municipal Corporation of Delhi that has launched Indias first mobile pothole repair machine. The machine,which can repair potholes in half an hour,was used to repair a pothole at Moti Nagar crossing in West Delhi on Monday. These machines involve application of high pressure whereby the material is automatically mixed in the machine and pressed into potholes.
Feeder bus links Qutab Station to Badarpur
The Qutab Minar Metro station will be connected with feeder service from Tuesday as the Delhi Transport Corporation will run a connecting bus service from the station to Badarpur. The service will run from 6.15 am to 9.20 pm at a frequency of 20 to 25 minutes,officials said.
Man shot at in Northeast Delhi
A 31-year-old man was shot at in New Usmanpur area of Northeast Delhi late on Sunday night while returning home from work. The incident was reported at 10 pm when five people assaulted Mohammad Anis alias Pappu,who works with a private firm in Okhla Industrial area,said the police. Aniss family claimed his uncle Akmal had hired the goons to attack him as there is an ongoing property dispute between them. However,the police said the injuries seemed to be self-inflicted and may be done to trap Akmal.
Stolen car recovered,culprits arrested
A bartender trainer and his friend were apprehended for allegedly stealing a Rs 25 lakh Toyota Camry car from outside a restro bar in South Delhi by posing as MNC officials,police said on Monday. Sandeep Sawant (23),who works as a trainer at a bartender training institute,and Karan Kaushik (26),son of a former Defence Ministry staffer,were apprehended from Vasant Vihar while trying to sell the car.
