Argument over beedi costs man his life
A trivial argument over a beedi cost a 30-year-old his life in West Delhi when two youths allegedly beat him up,the police said on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as G N Prasad,who came from Devariya in Uttar Pradesh. The police said he was beaten to death allegedly by Anil (24) and Sunil (22),a Class XII student,in Naseerpur in Palam village on Monday night. Prasad’s body was found near a pond in Naseerpur. During investigations,a senior officer said,it came to light that Prasad had a fight with some men in the area and police zeroed in on Anil and Sunil. They reportedly told police that they beat him up following an argument after they asked Prasad for a beedi.

Murder for cellphone,Rs 60: Three held
Three persons were arrested on Monday,a day after they murdered an 18-year-old boy at Sanjay Jheel Park in East Delhi’s Pandav Nagar. Police said the trio robbed a second-hand mobile handset and Rs 60 cash that victim Dheeraj Kumar was carrying. The accused were identified as Imran (20),Mukesh (22) and Akram (19). The phone has been recovered from the trio’s possession,the police said.
