With sporadic showers in the city and heavy rainfall in the catchment areas in Haryana,the water level has been showing a steady rise.

Kidnapped Faridabad boy rescued in UP

Lucknow:The Etawah police in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday arrested three men and rescued six-year-old Yash Sharma,who was kidnapped from near his house in Sector-7 in Haryana’s Faridabad district on August 19. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh. They were caught while they were shifting the boy to another hideout. They had lured the boy by promising him kites.

Man stabs his elderly aunt to death

Gurgaon:An elderly woman was killed and a man was injured when a member of their family stabbed them on Saturday night at their residence in Laxmi Vihar. Police said the man was unhappy with the “love marriage” of his sister-in-law with his cousin. After an argument he killed his aunt Manjeet Kaur (55) and injured his cousin Sumer Singh (25).

Notice to school after teachers assault boy

Gurgaon:Police will serve a notice to the authorities of DAV Senior Secondary High School on Monday after a Class X student was allegedly assaulted by schoolteachers. He became unconscious after the assault and had to be hospitalised,police said. Police said there was no injury mark on the child and even the medical report said there was no sign of any physical assault on his body.
