New Delhi: A man was arrested for allegedly murdering his younger brother during a drunken brawl in East Delhi’s Shakarpur area on Saturday night,police said. The incident occurred on Saturday night,when the two brothers — Arshad and Faizal — sat down for a drink at their Ramesh Park house in East Delhi. An argument over a petty issue escalated to such a level that Arshad (32) strangled his 29-year-old brother to death,police said.

Faizal was rushed to LBS Hospital,where doctors declared him brought dead. The body was later sent to Subzi Mandi mortuary for a post-mortem. A case has been registered against him under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code at the Shakarpur police station.

Ex-Navyman held with 150 fake warrants

New Delhi: The Railway Police have arrested an ex-navy serviceman in possession with more than 150 fake warrants. The accused,Virender Kumar Singh,was arrested on Monday when the Railway Police caught him with more than 150 fake warrants. According to police,Singh was enroute to Delhi from Guwahati in the Guwahati Rajdhani. “His ticket was checked but the TTE felt there was something wrong. A vigilance inquiry by the Railway Police led to his arrest since not only was the ticket fake,but the warrant was not genuine either.” Additional DCP (Railways) Bhairon Singh Gurjar.
