Low-intensity blast in Mehrauli
A blast caused by fire-crackers stuffed in a glass bottle triggered panic in Mehrauli,South Delhi,on Monday. The police said the blast was reported near Ambavati Complex and the loud noise due to the explosion led to panic. According to initial reports,no one was injured in the incident. A senior police officer said it was a “very low intensity blast” and further investigations were on.

2 arrested for murder
Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad police have arrested two persons,identified as Anil and Uma Shankar,for the murder of a 35-year-old property dealer,Prashant Sharma,who was found dead in Muradnagar village on February 20. Another accused in the case,Satender Pal,was arrested earlier,the police said.

Murder,loot: 3 held
The Northwest Delhi police on Sunday arrested three persons and claimed to have cracked a robbery-cum-murder case reported on March 22. The police claimed the accused — identified as Mohammed Alam,Saddam and Iqlak — had robbed and then murdered one Satish Kumar,a resident of Jahangirpuri,and left the body on the railway tracks in Shalimar Bagh.

C’garh CM on Metro
The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh,Dr Raman Singh,along with a delegation of 70 Cabinet members,took a ride on the Delhi Metro on Monday. They went from the Central Secretariat to Pragati Maidan Metro station and looked at the interchange between two Metro corridors at the Rajiv Chowk Metro station. The Chhattisgarh government is also planning a Metro system in Raipur.

Burglar held
Gurgaon: The Gurgaon police arrested one person — Tarif alias Kallu,a resident of Hapur in UP — for over two dozen burglaries reported from Sectors 55,56 and Jalvayu Vihar in the last few months. On Sunday,the Gurgaon police took Tarif into custody from their Delhi counterparts and presented him at the district court.

Man held for fraud
Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad police have arrested a man for cheating after he allegedly took the BCom exam impersonating his friend. Sunil Kumar,a resident of Krishna Nagar in Modinagar,took the exam at Modi Degree College.
