Two men were arrested on charges of abducting a young woman had come to Delhi for medical treatment and selling her to a physically challenged man in Haryana. The 18-year-old,a UP resident,had arrived at the New Delhi railway station on January 9 with her husband and was seeking directions to the Lok Nayak Hospital when the accused,Ramesh (28) and Rahul (20) approached them,the police said. They took the couple to the hospital. One of them then took the husband away,while the other kidnapped the woman,said DCP (Central) Vivek Kishore. The two then sold her to a man in Karnal who had lost both his legs in a train accident,police said.

13 people arrested for vehicle thefts
Thirteen people were arrested in separate cases of vehicle theft,with the police claiming they have recovered 21 stolen motorcycles and three cars. A gang of three alleged autolifters — Zia-ur-Rehman (22),Rahimuddin (22) and Imtiaz Khan Sheikh (23)— were arrested with four stolen motorcycles on January 19. Two others,Surender Singh Bisht (25) and Madan Bahadur (23),were arrested from Sitapuri in Southwest Delhi on Monday. Three stolen cars and a motorcycle were recovered. In West Delhi,one Vipin was arrested on Monday with four motorcycles. In Northwest Delhi,two gangs were busted and seven held.

Three sentenced to life term for murder
A court at Patiala House sentenced three men to life imprisonment for stabbing one Khoob Chand to death. Additional Sessions Judge S C Rajan also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 each on Ajay (35),Anil (30) and Vicky (31).

On March 23,2006,the convicts reportedly assaulted and stabbed Chand near Samadhan School,Dakshinpuri. The victim’s brother,Ghanshyam saw Chand being assaulted. The trio reportedly killed Chand due to personal enmity.

DU colleges take part in Rotary debate
Eight DU colleges participated in Rotary Club of Delhi Debate 2010-11. The colleges included Hindu,St Stephen’s,Venkateshwara,Gargi,Indraprastha College for Women,SRCC,Hansraj and Kamla Nehru. The Hindu team won.
