Metro to provide first-aid services
The Metro stations will be equipped with medical services before the Commonwealth Games when some of the stations are expected to see a higher footfall. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation plans to set up special first-aid kiosks at 23 Metro stations to provide prompt medical services to the commuters. We have tied up with St John Ambulance Brigade,which will provide the first-aid professionals. Related equipment will be provided by us, a DMRC spokesperson said.
Domestic help ends life in Central Delhi
A 45-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her residence,located in the vicinity of an industrialists New Delhi house,on Sunday,the police said. The victim has been identified as Asha Kumari who used to work as a domestic help at 6,Aurangzeb Road. She has left a suicide note in which she has taken full responsibility, the police said.
3-yr-old rescued from abductor in Nepal
A three-year-old girl was rescued from the hands of a domestic help who had fled to Nepal after abducting her from the house she worked in. The family stays in Gulabi Bagh,North Delhi. The girl was recovered on June 11. The girls father Venkateshwar Chaturvedi,told us that their domestic help,Suraksha Shresht,had gone out of their house with their daughter,Vaibhavi Chaturvedi,but did not return, a senior police officer said. The Nepal authorities refused to send the accused to Delhi.
Bus driver,passengers foil kidnapping bid
Ghaziabad: A kidnapping bid was foiled in Modinagar when passengers and the bus driver stopped some men from abducting three girls in a bus. The accused were travelling in the state-run bus and tried to pull the girls out. A case has been registered.
