Cash,gold worth Rs 2.64 lakh robbed
NEW DELHI: Five robbers,carrying pistols and knives,looted gold worth Rs 2.64 lakh and Rs 47,000 cash from Muthoot Finance Company’s office in Kanhaiyya Nagar. Two of the robbers were nabbed after a woman — Rachna Saini — who was passing by,heard the security guard’s call for help and closed the main gate of the company’s office.

Thief arrested
GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad police on Saturday busted the Bunty-Babli gang with the arrest of Babli alias Shahnaaz alias Bano. The couple,police said,had robbed two jewellery shops in Ghaziabad worth lakhs. “Bunty is yet to be arrested,” Raghuveer Lal,Ghaziabad SSP said.

Man gets 10-yr RI
New Delhi: A Delhi court sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for kidnapping and raping a six-year-old girl. The court turned down the contention of the convict that since the victim was a child,she could be tutored by her mother in her testimony.

Youth kills self
New Delhi: The body of a 19-year-old boy was found from the Yamuna on Saturday. Sandeep,a resident of Sungurpur village,was a Class XII student of Government Boys Senior Secondary School. According to the police,he committed suicide due to exam pressure.
